Rift In Progress....

Sorry about the lack of posts this week, we have begun our Heroic Mode Progression (Halfus down) in Cata. The guild > Rift, but I am leveling my Warrior in Rift. So far my first impressions are good. I have to say that Rift had me hooked off the bat with its Character creation, and gaining Souls is a blast. You start off with choosing your class (Rogue, Warrior, Mage, Cleric) all of these are customized with Souls (Talent Trees) into your perfect Tank, DPS, or Healer. The game recomends that you pick certain Souls that compliment each other, but you can pick to be an all out damage dealing char with basically 0 defense lol.

You get your Souls through the first 6 levels of game play, which I will say is as linear as Super Mario. When you get these Souls they have 2 uses to you, the Tree is passive abilities and some CD's, increasing your buffs, procs, defense... and the Roots. The root system is pretty cool. The more points you put into the tree the further you progress into your roots the more abilities you get. Basically each Soul you get comes with 2 basic abilities, spend 4 points get another ability. Unlike the new WoW 31 talent trees, you are not required to put in a set number of points into a tree before you can start working on another tree. This means you can put points into any tree at any time and reap the rewards.

I think the Souls are awesome, you can truly customize your character how you want them. There is a lot of abilities and you will probably want to do some research before you start spending points where ever.

To Be Continued....
